Natural Girls Rock!!

fauxnaturalista

Starting this blog was something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I knew I wasn’t the only person who has had the experiences I’ve had with my hair journey. Despite that, watching YouTube videos and looking online, everyone seemed to have it all figured out. How though? One day I just decided to start writing. Initially I wanted to just show people how I figured out my hair presently, but then I decided, let me tell my complete story. Let me start from the very beginning, and share my true, raw feelings. That’s how FauxNaturalista was born. I want it to be a place where no one feels judged for not being “natural enough,” or having a moment of “weakness” in their hair journey. When learning how to deal with natural hair, I’ve most definitely learned that it takes TIME and PATIENCE. It goes way beyond the big chop and getting overnight curls. You have to take the time to learn your hair texture, discover your hair pattern, and see how your hair reacts to products. It has taken me well over a year to discover so much about myself and my hair, and to this very day, I am still learning. Aside from my journey, I will be very vocal about products that work, specific hair techniques, and hair styles that will make the natural girl fall in love with herself and her hair. I am so excited to bring everyone along with me on my journey and if I help just one person, I know I’ve made the right choice! I look forward to sharing this natural journey with you; Stay tuned for my website!
